I’m big on deep conversations, especially ones that stimulate me. Out of all the conversations I’ve had, there’s always one that has stuck out to me the most. “At the end of every year I look back and see what I have accomplished that whole year. What I want to accomplish the next year”, he said on that winter night. Those who know me know I am very eager. I want to know what is happening, what is going on, I want to know the next move. Just so I can be prepared. That night, I slowed down, I listened. I heard aspersions, I heard dreams. I finally realized what patience meant.
As we approach the ending of this year, it’s just the beginning of the race. People worry about how they are going to accomplish every dream that they want. We fail to realize that life isn’t about accomplishing dreams but the journey to getting there. Slow and steady wins the race, why rush? While we appreciate every moment; cry when you have to, scream when you can, laugh till your core hurts. We worry so much about not being perfect we forget to appreciate the flaws that make us, us.
At the end of it all, never let anyone steal your soul or steal your passion.
