Have you ever regretted anything? Of course you have. That one day you should have called out, but didn’t. The one career move you wanted to take, but didn’t. That one country you had a chance to go to, but didn’t. That one person you had the perfect chance to to express how you feel about them, but didn’t. You said no to most of these instances or ones similar to them because; either you were afraid, or you were not ready. Life is about chances, you have to take them to grow not only yourself, but experiences as well.
Last week, I got a morning text from my boyfriend. In it he said that a few days prior, one of his best friends had just passed away. An argument that was happening was put on hold because, this news was more important. If you put it into retrospect that's how life happens. You are so caught up into your own life you forget the most important things. You wait for something tragic to happen to pull you back to reality. Unfortunately, death is one is one of those circumstances where people find themselves rehashing and revisiting nostalgic times. They start questioning themselves, “How did I? How did we?..End up here?” Simple, although alive, you forgot how to live.
Your job for instance. Making money is a necessity, I get that but most people (including myself) forget about themselves outside of work. They forget who they are, the people that care about them and the things they love to do. In this day in age, everyone is caught up trying to make that 15 cent, when that 15 cent is really making you. It’s making you forget that you have a life, one life at that. There’s so many excuses we can make just avoid living. We also have a weird way of envying those who effortlessly just live. Why? We all have the same twenty - four hours. We have the same opportunities, shit even if we don’t we have the option to make them and take them.
The next time you say no, think if that’s really what you want to do. Think “Will me saying no either hurt or help make me a better person? Will i regret it? Is it worth it?” If you want something bad enough you’ll obtain it. At the same end don’t let things pass you by because you didn’t take it. With that being said I hope everyone has a great weekend and I’ll see you next thursday with a new topic. Caio!
